About the Location
Centrally located on the Duke West Campus, the 2,500 square foot space of the Center for LGBT Life is a hub of conversation, warm inviting colors, technology, learning and safe space. The space features a library of over 2,000 books that can be checked out with a Duke ID and numerous LGBT magazines for perusal. The large conference room is designed for social events, entertainment, speakers and meetings. The conference room can seat up to 65 people and features a large video projection system with surround sound that will connect to a laptop or play a DVD, VHS or cable TV. Organizations and departments can use the library and conference room space for meetings and events and use our full kitchen to prepare food. Students can use the Center space during the day or evening to write papers, study, hold class meetings, eat lunch, search the internet on one of our new Mac laptops, or just take a quick nap between classes on one of our couches.
