The Carolina's Gay and Lesbian Scholarship


The Carolina's Gay and Lesbian Scholarship is awarded annually to a student from North or South Carolina attending Duke University who is involved in activism and the LGBT community.

 

The Program in the Study of Sexualities at Duke

  • The Program in the Study of Sexualities (SXL) builds on Duke University’s reputation as a leader in sexuality studies and queer theory to foster an intellectual community of researchers and students interested in using the interdisciplinary investigation of sexuality to forge new perspectives on the natural and social world. In addition to an undergraduate certificate program, the SXL Program organizes lectures and events and provides a hub for researchers and students at Duke to engage each other and to connect with Sexual Studies networks beyond Duke.

LGBT Center Programs and Resources

  • The Ally Network - LGBTQ/Ally program designed to provide safe spaces on campus and people with whom to discuss LGBT issues
  • LGBT Center Discussion Group - Confidential weekly LGBTQ discussion group, everyone welcome
  • Fabulous Friday - Weekly social time in the LGBT Center with light snacks provided, everyone welcome
  • David Bohnett Cyber Center - A great place to hang out, study, and do homework for the LGBT community and allies
  • Lending Library - From books to videos to magazines, we have an extensive collection of resources available
  • Lavender Graduation - This nationally recognized ceremony celebrates and recognizes the accomplishments and achievements of LGBT students and their allies while also providing a meaningful way to help complete your life as a student at Duke.
  • Women Loving Women - Asupport/discussion group for women who love women at Duke
